Zipper bag

Yesterday I finished this lovely zipper bag I have been working on for a while... Well I didn't work very hard πŸ™ŠπŸ™‰
I made one smaller over a year ago and I wanted a bigger version. But then I never got around to do it πŸ€” to many plans, to little time.

Zipper and lining fabric is gifted from my sister. The red flower fabric is from a curtain I bought second hand.
It's quite time consuming for a little bag but totally worth it.

I love the 3 zipper pockets inside. And I think this one will have room for all my on the go craft stuff πŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆπŸ™ˆ
My husband often say "Really lucky πŸ€ we have a big car." I'm not sure what he's referring to?

Anyway we got winter again, just when it seemed like spring.

A quick trip to town today resulted in a new knitting book.

Ofcause I have to try knitting a pair of socks from the book right away.
I found some yarn and put it in my knitting basket. Leaving the room for less than 5 minutes....
Someone else seems eager to start knitting as well πŸ™ŠπŸΆ

Her highness πŸ‘‘ have been naughty again...
I will be off knitting then 🧢🧢🧢
Have a lovely evening πŸŒƒ 🌟

Naughty dog 🐢

Someone have been very naughty during the weekend....
Her highness πŸ‘‘ 🐢 didn't seem to appreciate the collar I fixed for her.
The first thing she did was to roll herself in some smelly πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ™ŠπŸ€¬
That involved a shower and a serious cleaning of the collar...
I can tell you she was not a happy puppy 🐢

Then someone had left their slippers in a place that her highness could reach...
She is a dog after wool and will steal anything she can get her paws 🐾 on...
I can never leave any knitting or crochet with wool out or she will take it. Not to mention skeins of yarn...
I don't know how many she actually have ruined but it is a few over the years...
Not to mention crochet hooks and knitting needles and even glasses πŸ‘“...

Strangely enough she will mostly leave cotton yarn alone and crochet hooks and knitting needles aren't that interesting any more.

This time she managed to eat of the needle felted dog, so lucky as it was a easy fix.

It was so lovely and spring weather before the weekend. I even found snowdrops.
But now we got quite a bit of snow

Have a lovely day

DOG COLLAR

We bought some adjustable flea collars for our dogs. But they were rather frustrating as they would adjust on their own πŸ˜•
So I was supposed to sew a seam to keep them from sliding. But I never got around to do, it and they have been lying in a drawer for ages.
they have passed the date they would work for fleas but could still be used as regular dog collars. Though not pretty once.

But I had some pretty ribbon I thought would look nice.
I had to pick the collars apart to sew the ribbon on.

And sewing it all back together afterwards.
The extra layer of ribbon prevents the collar from sliding, and slipping over the dogs head 🐢

You can ofcause make dog collars from scratch the same way. I have done so earlier.

I was hoping to get my girls to show of their new collars. But no such luck today πŸ™„πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Have a creative day

Pjona [shepherd's knitting] mittens

Happy Friday friends 🌻♥️🌻
Wednesday we were having a road trip and I had my pjoning with me. So I finished the first pair and started a new one πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
You might say I got hooked πŸ˜‰

I thought you might wanted to learn how to pjone as well.
It's really easy, all you need to know is Slipstitch and chain stitch
So I made a tutorial how to pjone a pair of mittens.

Pjone mittens

Wool yarn
50g 50m
I used Drops Eskimo on my first pair
But you can choose what ever yarn you prefer.
Use a higher number crochet hook than suggested as the work should be loosely.

Chain 30

Slipstitch in first chain to make a circle.

Slipstitch in the back loop of the chain. Stitch loosely all the way around.

Just keep on stitching in the back loop for about 8 rows or as long as you want the cuff to be.

Slipstitch in the front loop from here.

Keep on stitching around until you reach the point where you want your thumb to be.
Ca 12 cm chain 5, skip 5 Slipstitches. Slipstitch around.

In the next row Slipstitch over the 5 chain stitches and keep working in the front loop.

If you rather would like to make fingerless mittens you can stop about here and add a few rows of back loop crochet

When the mittens reaches the top of your fingers. Ca 13 cm.
Decrease by crocheting 2 and 2 together until there are 4 left.

Thumb
Slipstitch in the front loop in the 5 stitches you skipped for the thumb hole pick up a stitch in each side and Slipstitch in the 5 chain stitches. Work around until you reach the top of your thumb decrease by crochet 2 and 2 together until there are 4 stitches left

Make another one the same way. As it's tube shaped you don't have to think about what side to placing the thumb πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Sew the hole on the top of the mittens and thumb.
Weave in loose ends

It's important that the work should be loose.
You can of course play around with the back and front loop stitch to create a different pattern. And use a lot of different colours making them really happy mittens.
😊

Mittens

I found another project after finishing my hubby's socks 🧦
Typically I forgot to take a picture, but it's just ordinary boring socks anyway 🀣
I don't really like to knit socks.
So I started a much more fun project πŸ‘
Pjoning a pair of mittens.
My father made me a pjone hook a few years back ❤️

I totally love it and I find it much easier to work with than using a regular crochet hook.
Using some yarn from my stash. This was left over from a sweater I knitted several years ago. I bought what was left because it was going out of production and I wanted to be sure I had enough.
Now I finally found good use for it.
I'm looking forward to new warm mittens.
And reducing my stash of yarn πŸ˜‰My goal is to buy nothing new this year unless it's for a special project.

Pjoning is not very difficult it's just slipstitch and you can use your regular crochet hook.
Wishing you a lovely day πŸ’š 🧢

More crochet flowers 🌸

Good morning ❤️
Hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready for some Mondaymending ☕🧡
Today I was supposed to mend a hole in the lining of my jacket for #mondaymending Evelyn
But then yesterday I was putting on my newly mended shirt and I pulled it a little bit and my finger went through the fabric πŸ™„πŸ™„

I'm guessing it  just have been loved to much ❤️ luckily I had a crochet flower left from making the crochet flower tutorial last week.

In case you didn't get it it's Here
So same procedure as last week..
I'm thinking this is probably turning into a crochet top 😁
I did repair the lining of the pocket as well. It is so frustrating to have holes in the pocket don't you think?

I just used ladder stitch and it took me less than 5 minutes 😊
If you don't know how to do ladder stitch it's a tutorial Here

I am still not finished my hubby's socks.
Knitting socks is so boring, but useful.
I get easily side tracked when knitting socks 🀣🀣🀣

I found some cool patterns on Pinterest for some Irish crochet. I just had to try.
At least I get inspired by knitting socks 🧦
Happy Monday

Crochet flowers

Hi πŸ˜€
This weekend I finished my hubby's felted slippers and he was very happy about them and started to wear them right away.

I think the trucks did turn out pretty well. Though I liked the first one better.

Since it's Monday I had to do some mending as well.  Evelyn hoste Mondaymending over at Instagram. And every Monday you take something from your mending pile and fix it. That way you will always get some mending done. And you can show your work using her #mondaymending
Brilliant right πŸ‘
I don't have much left in my mending pile at the moment. But I found a t-shirt that needed some tlc

Since I was a bit lazy I just reached into my knitting basket and found some cotton yarn and crochet some flowers to sew over the hol and the lousy seam. Earlier I have done the same on the other side of the shirt.
It's actually much cooler now than originally.
I have got a lot of questions if I can show how to make the flowers.
They are actually very simple to make.
You need a little bit of yarn. I used 2 colours but you don't have to. And a crochet hook.

You start by chaining 4 stitches  slip stitch to a circle, or make a magic circle if you prefer.
Crochet 16 single crochet in the circle. Slip stitch into first single crochet.

Make 2 chain stitches in the first single crochet. 2 double crochet in the next stitch. 2 chain stitch and single crochet in the next. Repeat 7 times singel crochet into the same stitch you started.

If you need a bigger flower 🌸 use a thicker yarn or make more petals by adding single crochet stitches in the 2.row each petal needs 2 single crochet stitches.

You can make various kinds of flowers using treble crochet or double treble crochet stitch. Or make clusters or popcorn stitch instead.
I have made a variation with 3 double treble crochet clusters and 7 chain stitches.
And one using double crochet cluster.

Have fun crocheting flowers 🌸🌹🌸

Felted slippers

Finally I got back on track with this slippers I knitted and felted before Christmas. Now it was time to decorate them with some needle felt. I thought some dogs would be cool 😎 for my son.
I still need to sew some soles on, so they will not be worn out so fast.
I'm using leather form our old sofa for the sole.

I got just one decorated for my hubby
But I probably will try to do the second today. You can probably guess my hubby is a truck driver πŸ˜‰

I was out of ideas for a new project, yes I know very strange. But I thought my hubby probably needs a pair of new socks 🧦 using some yarn from my stash. I am trying to not buy any thing new until I have reduced what I already have.

I will have to think about another project while knitting this socks. Hopefully I will get a brilliant idea or two.
It was such a lovely weather yesterday. I love taking landscape pictures. We have the most amazing nature here ❤️
Have a lovely Saturday

Winter coat

Her highness πŸ‘‘ 🐢 is wearing her visible mended winter coat.
She got a lot of holes in it after chasing a mouse in some bushes. Not to worry she never caught it 🀣
And not that she really needed her winter coat today as she refused to walk and would rather sit inside my winter overall πŸ™„

The weather report say warmer weather and plenty of rain ☔. I don't think her highness will be happy about that either...
Have a beautiful day πŸ’š
